Official Groundbreaking at New Fir Street Site May 9, 2002 Proturn employees celebrated the groundbreaking of their new 30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility Thursday as a track hoe began clearing trees and brush from the site. Proturn owner Steve Mobley made a few brief comments to commemorate the occasion beginning with "Well, we've come a long way in the fifteen years since we disconnected the furnace to run three machines in the garage of our house.." The company has indeed
come a long way since it's humble beginnings, now employing 26 workers and
occupying more than 12,000 sq. ft. of nearby Red Soils Business Park.
Proturn's primary focus in the beginning was production CNC Turning with
later expansion into Urethane Foam Molding. As the company's
reputation for quality and on-time delivery grew, participation in
dock-to-stock and JIT programs were a natural progression. Proturn
now regularly handles complex assembly projects and enjoys Preferred
Vendor status with many of it's customers. Recent expansion into
screw machining and rubber molding have opened the door to new
opportunities for growth.
