ABOUT PROTURN

Founded in 1987 by Steven and Linda Mobley, Proturn, Inc. was established as a production machine shop. Steven had 20 years of job shop experience in machining as a project engineer and general manager. Linda provided her skill as a business manager with a background in accounting and office management. Originally located at their home, the Mobleys built their machining business on the philosophy of integrity and professionalism, striving to meet or exceed their customers’ expectations with every job order. Proturn soon gained a reputation in the industry for providing precision quality parts with accountability for accurate orders and on time deliveries. By 1993, Proturn had grown to 10+ employees and acquired additional machine tools including CNC lathes and mills, requiring a move to a larger facility.

After the move in 1993, a key customer presented the opportunity to expand into molding urethane foam rubber. After intense research, the successful expansion into rubber molding furthered their manufacturing experience and machining capabilities. Proturn had developed successful long-term relationships with customers and found itself growing with them. They were able to align themselves with their customers needs and provide manufacturing solutions. The challenge of technically difficult parts, very close tolerance specs, and liability issues regarding warranty claims are the foundation of the company's relentless approach to eliminating defects and maintaining consistent processes.

By 2000, Proturn had grown to 30+ employees and occupied 12,500 sq. ft. in an industrial park. The acquisition of Swiss screw machines bridged the gap between CNC machining and screw machining. Recognizing the potential for expansion of their polymer molding capability into the vulcanization of natural rubber and silicone, several hot platen presses were installed. Proturn has been established as a key supplier for customers utilizing JIT and dock-to-stock programs. They effectively manage complex assembly projects and commonly provide turn-key manufacturing services for projects requiring subcontracted services and purchased components. Proturn operates as an extension of its customers business, providing machining and support services for manufacturers in many industries including medical, dental, fastener, forestry products, trucking, mining and racing.

In 2001, Proturn purchased a parcel of industrial land and contracted to build a new 30,000 sq. ft. facility.  Construction was completed and the company moved in February 2003.  The additional space has allowed for improved material handling, better product flow, addition of a dedicated assembly area, centralized tool crib, and expanded rubber molding area.  Another major benefit of the move includes improved IT and Telecommunications capabilities with the new T1 connection, allowing for direct inward dial, improved internet access, and website and email hosting.

PROTURN, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to its employees by offering competitive benefits including company sponsored training, reimbursement for continuing education, paid medical and dental insurance, 401k and profit sharing.
